Topic for Week 15 -- The Differences between Political- and Market-Entrepreneurs
Question: Are there any instances, specifically in the United States, in which government subsidies were actually a good thing and had more pros than cons?

Sort:

There may be a case of acceptable subsidies; however, it is not for profitable conduct. The one case of acceptable subsidies would be for conservation efforts or other genuine environmental considerations. For instance, CRP ground, by which the government provides a subsidy for planting native grasses, may make conservation valuable. However, for most applications, they are not.
